slouchie

A super quick hat I whipped up for the amazing Rhonda's birthday.  This is me modelling it, but trust me, it looks better on Rhon.

Regognise the location?  Same photoshoot as last week's FO.  Can't show off everything at once though can I?

Docklands.  Thanks Lou for the sweet photography!

Pattern: Giftie Slouchie Beanie.  Also see here.  Stupidest picture for a pattern I've ever seen. Oh that's a nice beanie, let's cover it with snow so you can't see the pattern!!  Anyway, good pattern.  I'd do one more pattern repeat next time do get it a bit slouchier.
Yarn: BWM Classic 12ply.  I always  forget how quickly 12ply works up.  I think I need to make everything in 12ply from now on.
Needle: 6mm circulars.  I've never used dpns, and swear I never will.
Ravelled here.

  4. It's beautiful. I totally know what you mean about bad pattern photos. For the socks I'm doing now the designer photographed dark purple socks ... so you can't actually see much of the pattern in the photos. GRRRR! Fortunately there are some project photos on Ravelry in lighter colour yarns that show the pattern better so I knew what I was getting.

  5. She must have loved it! That kind of hat is really trendy here. From a knitting standpoint it must have been a lot of fun to knit. I'm thinking the weird photos on the pattern website are because it is Caron, nothing they do is classy or quality (although some people love them some Red Heart, shudder), I'm guessing no one on their staff wrote the pattern.

  9. I always use circs instead of DPNs too.

I own two of every size circ...just can't get the magic loop figured out.

    Love the hat pattern.

  10. Lovely beanie! Thanks for the pattern tip, I've got a few beanies to make and if I ever use this pattern I'll remember to do more repeats. BWM's 12ply really shows off the stitches.

  15. I really like the design on the top of this hat. Gotta go check out the pattern, I'm sure I have some appropriate yarn around here for it. Thanks for sharing. Nice photos...I especially love the sunshine.
